David Weeks

David Weeks is one of America`s leading designers. His award-winning lighting is installed in high-profile locations throughout the world, in addition to his innovative furniture, household products and toys. 

David Weeks work has received numerous honors and awards. He is most recently a nominee for the Designpreis Deutschland 2010, Germany`s highest design honor. The Wooden Toys Hanno and Ursa were honored by the Chicago Athenaeum in 2009 with a GOOD DESIGN Award, as was the Sculpt furniture line and Sarus lighting collection in 2008. Weeks has been nominated for the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award several times, and has participated as a judge in I.D. Magazine Annual Design Review.

He is been featured in the Metropolitan Home Design 100 and he was one of seven designers chosen to represent New York at Berlin 7+7 Designmai exhibit. Weeks was featured in the 2003 Cooper-Hewitt`s National Design Triennial: Inside Design Now. 

Originally from Athens, Georgia, Weeks studied painting and sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned a BFA. Weeks went on to work in the Manhattan studio of Ted Muehling before founding David Weeks Studio. Weeks has also been an adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design.  

Weeks lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Georgianna Stout, partner of design studio 2x4, and their children.
